Monson conceived, wrote and directed the critically and commercially acclaimed production VIVID for the Friedrichstadt Palast in Berlin, recognized as the world’s largest theatre stage. Krista is proud to have served as the first woman in the theater’s 100-year history to serve as writer and director. VIVID celebrates a renowned, international creative team, including illustrious milliner and fashion designer Philip Treacy.

 

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL

 

Monson spent over a decade with Cirque du Soleil: as Artistic Director of the renowned production “O” in Las Vegas, as Casting Director for Cirque du Soleil’s Resident Shows Worldwide and most recently, as Conceptor, Stage and Creative director. Embracing Cirque du Soleil’s mission to invoke the imagination, provoke the senses and evoke the emotions of people around the world, she immerses herself in a vision and then transcends that vision into breathtaking, highly impactful experiences in visual storytelling that celebrate the extraordinary potential of human performance and cutting-edge stagecraft.

United Nations

World Humanitarian Summit

 

In 2016, Monson served as Creative Director of the opening and closing ceremonies for the first World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul, Turkey. Produced by the United Nations and United Nations Foundation, the ceremonies featured film celebrities Forest Whitaker, Ashley Judd and Daniel Craig as well as Nobel peace prize nominee, Victor Ochen. Attended by delegations from over 180 countries, the ceremonies centered on five core pillars underscored by then Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-Moon: preventing and ending conflict; respecting rules of war; leaving no one behind; working differently to end need; and investing in humanity.

 

Concert & Events

 

At the core of every concert or event is a thrilling invitation to a complete and spectacular emotional experience. Krista’s background directing and choreographing countless works in musical theatre, visual storytelling and elite human performance allows for a strong transitional flow and narrative resulting in dynamic, provoking, impactful experiences in the area of Concert and International Events. She served as Guest Choreographer for Céline Dion at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas as well as Choreographer for the opening and closing ceremonies of the third largest sporting event in the world, the IAAF World Championships in Athletics, broadcast to an audience of 4.1 billion.
